I'm so sorry this happened. Few options: 1. Find a new employer willing to sponsor — many large companies have immigration as a standard benefit 2. Consider EB2-NIW if you have publications/patents — no employer sponsorship needed 3. EB1-A if you have extraordinary ability evidence 4. Look into marriage-based GC if applicable 5. Canada Express Entry as a backup plan (PR in 6 months) Don't stay at a company that won't support your immigration. 5 years is enough loyalty.
This is unfortunately more common than people think. Document everything — your contributions, projects, impact. Start interviewing NOW. In tech, many companies (Google, Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, Apple) will re-start PERM for experienced candidates. Your 5 years of US experience is actually very valuable.
