I've been growing all three in Edison for 4 years! Here's what works: **Curry Leaves**: Buy a plant from the Kalustyans website or a local Indian nursery ($25-40). Keep it in a large pot so you can bring it inside during winter. It goes dormant Nov-Feb but comes back strong in spring. Full sun, don't overwater. **Green Chilies**: Thai chili variety works best in NJ. Start seeds indoors in March, transplant outside after last frost (May). One plant gives you more chilies than you can eat. I freeze extras. **Methi**: Direct sow seeds outside in April. It bolts fast in summer heat so do succession planting every 3 weeks. You can also grow it as microgreens on your kitchen windowsill year-round. **Bonus**: Grow tulsi (holy basil) โ it thrives in NJ summers.
Patel Brothers in Edison actually sells curry leaf plants in spring (around April). Much cheaper than ordering online. Also check the Edison Farmers Market โ there's usually an Indian vendor selling herb plants.
