There are SO many yoga studios now with 'authentic Indian yoga' branding but charging $30/class. Is it worth paying for a studio or can you get the same benefit from YouTube? Looking for actual yoga, not just stretching in expensive pants.

I've done both extensively. Studio is worth it if: you're a beginner (alignment matters, bad form causes injury), you want pranayama/meditation guidance (hard to learn alone), or you need accountability. After 6 months in studio, I switched to home practice with Yoga With Adriene (free YouTube) for daily sessions and do studio 1x/month for corrections. Best of both worlds.
For authentic yoga, look for teachers trained in Iyengar, Ashtanga, or Sivananda traditions — not just 200-hour 'yoga teacher training' from a resort in Bali. BAPS and many Hindu temples offer free or donation-based yoga classes that are more traditional than commercial studios.
